Members 5shot Posted June 7, 2009 Members Report Posted June 7, 2009 I just bought a Randall #2, 18" Splitter, and I am having a bit of trouble with the darn thing (I did watch it work prior to purchasing). I am using a really firm leather - 8 oz. plated Veg. Tan. I can have the feed rollers no more than 1/16th inch appart, and when I feed the piece through, it doesn't shave off a bit (can't even hear the blade scuffing the back side). If I crank it down just a bit further, it will start the cut and shave off an ounce or two, but by the time the piece comes out the end of it is paper thin. Do I have a blade adjustment issue, blade is too dull, feed roller pressure??? I don't want to fiddle with it until I have a good idea of what it might be. Thanks, John Quote
