Members HOG Posted June 28, 2009 Members Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) Well this was my first attempt at covering a seat with leather...made the seat pan out of fiber glass and laid neoprene for the rubber. The lace is Kangaroo with a double lace stitch. Edited June 28, 2009 by HOG Quote
MADMAX22 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 That looks really good HOG. I think maybe a basketweave would make it look a tad better just in the lacing department but over all looks really good IMHO. Also best of all it fits the bike very well. Quote
Members HOG Posted June 29, 2009 Author Members Report Posted June 29, 2009 Thanks Max...I really liked the basket weave but thought it was beyond my capabilites. Quote
MADMAX22 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Thanks Max...I really liked the basket weave but thought it was beyond my capabilites. Im sorry Im in idiot, the seat looks great, what I was commenting on was the lacing. I wanted to say mexican round braid or whatever its called. I just like that round effect of that type of lacing. I dont know why I said basketweave, your seat covering looks great as is. As far as basket weave it takes a few tries but you can get ahang of it after a little practice. Quote
Members HOG Posted June 30, 2009 Author Members Report Posted June 30, 2009 Max - In a strange way I knew what you meant to say. Thanks...no apology needed. Quote
Members manfrommuc Posted July 3, 2009 Members Report Posted July 3, 2009 Hello Max, your seat looks great but I think for long distances you need a iron ass.... Greetings Johann Livingroom (FLSTC) chair Rider Quote

tashabear Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Thanks Max...I really liked the basket weave but thought it was beyond my capabilites. I've actually found it easier than double loop lacing. The seat looks great! Quote
