Contributing Member Regis Posted July 3, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted July 3, 2009 I'm saving for a Cobra Class 18 BUT, there is a CONSEW CN-2230R for sale just down the road that is in mint condition. It comes with table and motor but I would have to replace motor with a servo because I need slow speed. This machine ($400) is in my budget now. I've seen positive words here about Consew 223 & 225 but, I don't know how 2230R fits into that line. Anyone have experience with this machine? Any info appreciated. Regis Quote
Cobra Steve Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Hi Regis, hope all is well. The Consew 2230 is a single needle lockstitch machine for garments. It does not have a walking foot. It is used by tailors, dressmakers, dry cleaners, bridal shops, and your everyday seamstress. Thanks, Steve Quote
Members neelsaddlery Posted July 8, 2009 Members Report Posted July 8, 2009 These machines were a lot like garment class machines made by Singer, Artisan, and even us. Consew made a version of this machine with a big bobbin. It could be used for chaps and chinks, but was not a hard core machine for the leather industry. You would be better off going with a walking foot machine or compound feed machine. Hope this of some help to you. Quote
