Members SunshineNative Posted July 12, 2009 Members Report Posted July 12, 2009 Hi All, I recently came across an Al Stohlman book with tooled, carved, embossed (?) animals and the book talked about "Plugging". Apparently he layered more leather plugs on top or under the work for depth and definition. Could anyone lead me in a direction to finding out how to do this technique? Show me real examples of this type of work and how it would be applied? I also saw where he had cut some leatherwork and used it in appliques where I can understand the reasoning but not sure how to do it. Thank you for your time Dianne Quote
Contributing Member Crystal Posted July 13, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted July 13, 2009 Hi Dianne- I haven't done anything with plugs, so all I can do is refer you to another book that Al Stohlman wrote called "The Art of Embossing Leather." That book explains how to make plugs. Hope this helps some. Crystal Quote
