Members kenny Posted July 17, 2009 Members Report Posted July 17, 2009 Hi all, Im in the process of sewing some applique lettering on a set of leathers and just want to get some tips as to how to finish (tie off) the thread on each letter? The samples i've done so far look as though they will come undone pretty easy so i just want to know how the experts do it! Any suggestions? Im using a walking foot machine. Thanks Quote
Moderator Art Posted July 17, 2009 Moderator Report Posted July 17, 2009 Hi Kenny, Start normally and hold your tails. Sew all the way around the letter and over a couple of the starting stitches making sure to keep the starting tails out of the way. Clip off (leave a couple inches) and pull the top starting and stopping tails to the bottom and tie off or clip or burn off and glue. I don't know what kind of a seamster you are, but if there is a lining, you can remove and reinstall it and get $20 or so more for the job.
