anester05 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 I want to make a cover for my pipe so I do not put smudges on the meerschaum. Here is the pipe I own Any Ideas? I want to do this so the pipe ages well if I handle it to much then my fingers will make smudge marks and when It turns color it will be blotchy. UKRay Report post Posted July 24, 2009 IMHO a couple of turk's head style braids would look nice and wouldn't interfere with the look of the pipe too much either... Ray
whinewine Report post Posted July 24, 2009 A piece of very stretchy leather, wet molded & then sewn when dry would work. I don't know if it would stain the meerschaum in the wet state, though. If you can find a pipe in the exact shape & dimension, you could mold on that, then transfer when dry & sew up. russ

When it dry remove the leather an the plastic wrap put the leather back and sew it together. Now I need to figure out how to do the edges. hmmmmm I have never done a turks head before would it be easy to do? Well maybe not easy but doable?
