Members Vikti Posted August 15, 2009 Members Report Posted August 15, 2009 I have a friend who want me to make them a brown pouch but the only brown dye I have is Eco Flow, will putting a coating of Leather Sheen on it prevent or retard the dye from bleeding and fading? I just don't have the time right now to go to Ft Worth and get some Fiebings and I'm just trying to work with what I have. Damon Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted August 15, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted August 15, 2009 No, the leather sheen ( IIRC) is water soluble and will not suffice as a sealant/top coat for anything exposed to weather. Quote
Members CitizenKate Posted August 16, 2009 Members Report Posted August 16, 2009 Use a wax finish for water-soluble dyes. Kate Quote
Members Vikti Posted August 16, 2009 Author Members Report Posted August 16, 2009 Thanks. I'll try to convince him to go black unless he can wait until next weekend when I can make it to either HC or TLF Take care all. Damon Quote
