Members whinewine Posted September 7, 2009 Members Report Posted September 7, 2009 Ok, the update: we met the pro wrestler and star of the '80s cartoon, GI Joe, at Berkeley Springs, WV, last week. He stayed in the same hotel we did. Here is Sue wrestling him... Quote
Timd Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 That's cool, Russ. I met him in the late 80's at a local diner, he was riding in a camo limo. Is he still? He seems like a cool guy. Quote

Moderator bruce johnson Posted September 8, 2009 Moderator Report Posted September 8, 2009 Some of the best times my son and I shared when he was young was watching Saturday night wrestling. I go back to Bobby Heenan, the Valients, Gagnes, the Hart family, Dick the Bruiser, Baron VonRaschke, Bobo Brazil, and the good ol' days before that. To see Sargeant Slaughter is now wearing Crocs, that just ain't right. Say is isn't so.... I remember Bobo Brazil, Bruno Samartino, Buddy Rogers (sp?), Killer Kowalski... my grandmother loved studio wrestling (I believe it was KDKA that broadcast every Saturday night from Pittsburgh, PA). She would yell at the screen if one of the nasties did something illegal behind the ref's back. I took her to a local show where all these people performed & she had a wonderful time. Ah, for life to be so simple & so black and white... russ Quote
