some practice pieces, mini bible covers, etc...

Recommended Posts

Here are a few miniature bible covers i made. a guy was handing out those little free bibles on campus and i figured i could practice making little covers for em.

one for my granny, one for my gf. hand stitching really gets old, even on something small.

the other thing is just kinda a practice piece which i screwed the flow up on in a couple places (i need to plan more before i start carving), but decided to stamp it anyway for practice.

when i got done i figured, what the heck, might as well stain it!

id really like to know how to dye the edges on things. i dont know what contraption is necessary for a nice edge.

That is definately some very nice work you got there. I did a Bible cover for my mom and I wish it would have come out that nice. Job well done.

N-i-c-e work!! Yessir!

As for the edges, you have all kinds of options: a) here on LW.net, do a search for Bob Park. He has superb edges and details step-by-step how to do them. Of course, living in Sheridan, you have all kinds of resources. Try contacting Chan Geer, Barry King, Chester hape, Bill Gardner. Chan is one heck of a nice guy and a great teacher.

Good luck!
