I am looking for a leatherworker to produce a line of high end custom english bridles.

I have completed prototypes to base the design on. The initial production will be for roughly 20 hunter bridles, laced reins, and 10 martingales.

Any information or leads will be greatly appreciated.

Buttonwood,

Where are you?

What do you define as a 'Hunter' bridle?

Would you supply the leather and fittings or would the leatherworker have to provide everything from scratch?

Would you prescribe the leather and fittings to be used or allow the leatherworker to choose?

Are the bridles all to be one size or a selection of sizes?

Do you have a price range for making them?

I am located in South Florida.

The bridles will fancy stitched and half round raised with padding. There are also some unique stitching details that can be seen on the prototypes. The first set of reins will be fancy stitched and raised with tradition hunter lacing.

You can view a wide variety of hunter bridles on this web site: http://www.eqtack.com/catalog/index.php?cName=english-tack-snaffle-bridles

I would like to use Herm Sprenger fittings and most likely Sedgwick leather in a dark havanna.

The bridles will be made in 4 standard sizes but I would like to offer custom sizes as needed.

I am looking for high quality craftsmanship and interested parties should have experience with bridle production. Work samples will be required prior to viewing the prototypes.

Thank You,

Buttonwood

Dear Buttonwood,

Thanks for replying.

South Florida to the north of Scotland means I'm not in the running for this one.

Dear Gary,

Would you be interested in making high quality bridles for a Dutch company?

Try http://www.tackzone.com I believe they can do custom work for you. If not, you can use them as a resource for bridle ideas. They have fantastic photos of Dressage Bridles, English Bridles, Polo Bridles, Hunt bridles and a lot more. Great photos.

Good luck

Martin
