Johanna Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Here are some people pics from the show: Alex is the VP of the IFoLG and served as head judge Barry King had a wide array of shiny tools to pick from! Bonnie and Roger did a lot behind the scenes to help pull this show off! Dave Smith is president of the Lonestar Guild, Randahl submitted one of the most interesting pieces of the competition, and Jim Linnell, who manages to smile at people even when he must be bone-tired. Edd Lucas, president of the IFoLG Mr. & Mrs. Howard Jane and George Hurst. It was wonderful to see them both. Bruce and Rundi Johnson are even wittier in person than they are on the net. Of course. Bruce has an amazing mustache, puts some of those Texans to shame. In 2011 the IIL is hosting the IFoLG show in Albuquerque. That means I have to learn to spell it. Paul and Rosa let me put LW cards on their Leather Wranglers table. Thank you! Mr. & Mrs. Theobald have raised their children to be productive citizens and the kids moved out. Now they are enjoying the grandparent gig, and are free to explore their artistic and creative sides. I am incredibly envious, but they tell me that I will miss these kid days someday, and to enjoy them while they last. Ernie and Bea Wayman, who still work tirelessly for the IfoLG. I have more pics to come. Stay tuned. Johanna
bruce johnson Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Adding another here. (Sorry Johanna, but this was the peach shirt phase of the day.) This is a picture of Martin "Boomer" Bergin and me. It was a real special time to BS with him throughout the day.
howardb Report post Posted September 28, 2009 For those of you who don't know, Boomer is a real cowboy, not just a wanna be. Older than dirt too. And Bruce's moustache is for real folks. No fuzzy caterpillar running around his lip. Nice guy too! I normally have my eyes open, but Johanna managed to get me in mid-blink. I was smiling so big cuz the wife had just joined me after a long week of tooling. I was glad to see her. While all of the folks at a show are very nice and cool to meet, Paul and Rosa are genuinely nice folks. I'm poorer of pocket, but much richer of knowledge of the craft. These things are so worth the effort to come to! Brent

Johanna Report post Posted October 1, 2009 Thank you, Rosa, for the picture! Everyone, this is my husband, Wade, who has been supporting LW since day one in a thousand ways. Whether it's cooking dinner, or taking the kids to the Y so I can work, or waking me up when I fall asleep at the keyboard, or giving me the money to pay the server bills- Wade has had my back with LW since the beginning. When a leatherworker is driving me crazy, he is the one who listens to me complain. When my feelings have been hurt, it's his broad shoulder I cry on. When people tell me how great the site is, and how much it has helped them, I always reply, "We are lucky to have such good people here." Well, Wade is one of the unsung heroes, and I am fortunate to have a man that understands why I must do this, and helps me when he can. Without his patience and love for me, LW wouldn't be what it is. Wow, I love that man. Johanna

yaklady Report post Posted October 3, 2009 In the picture of "Boomer Smiling", the Japanese lady in the tan suit is Sachiko Toyoshima, from Denver. The other lady is straight from Japan. Roz was trying to spell her name for me and it came out sounding like M-I-C-K-E-Y . . . It wasn't Mickey Mouse, it was something like Michiko. She won Best of Advanced with her beautiful yellow purse. Thank for the nice pictures! Kathy PS: my hubbie's name is Pat.
