Ruark Report post Posted June 14, 2014 I always used a metal strainer on these Texas working ranch saddles. Seems to me like it gives a more solid, stable feel to the seat, especially if you have to slide up forward for a quick stop or if the horse bucks a bit. plinkercases Report post Posted August 10, 2019 Recognizing this is an old but excellent thread I do have a question I hope someone can address: I get that the counter of the ground seat is essentially up to the art of the maker with a few "standard" but has anyone developed a method to somehow capture the riders shape and then sculpt the ground seat for the closest contact and comfort possible?
