One of the things I find fascinating is not only how much our ancestors liked their tooled leather, but how some design elements still used today can be clearly seen in pieces made more than five hundred years ago.

These are the kinds of images I find tremendously inspiring.

This may be referenced elsewhere, but does anyone have any info on historical leather braiding, like from 1600 or earlier. I know that there was lots of other work that made it thru to today, but have not found any references to braided work.
