Members Peter Ellis Posted October 24, 2009 Members Report Posted October 24, 2009 http://larsdatter.com/cases.htm The page above lists links to photos available on the net of many interesting objects made from leather and housed in various museums. One of the things I find fascinating is not only how much our ancestors liked their tooled leather, but how some design elements still used today can be clearly seen in pieces made more than five hundred years ago. These are the kinds of images I find tremendously inspiring. I hope others will enjoy them. Quote

I'm always amazed at all the intricate details medieval leatherworkers incorporated into their work. Ray Quote
Members sharpgal Posted June 15, 2010 Members Report Posted June 15, 2010 This may be referenced elsewhere, but does anyone have any info on historical leather braiding, like from 1600 or earlier. I know that there was lots of other work that made it thru to today, but have not found any references to braided work. sharpgal A superb collection of images, Peter, and great reference for those of us who enjoy history.
