what OZ leather should I have

Recommended Posts

Good day all,

I have been doing alot of kit projects so far and want to start do some things that I cant get in kit form. I would like to make up some wrist cuffs and a few wallets. I also want to make up a holster or two. Aswell, I would like to make a set of western saddle bags. I would like opinions on what wieght leather I should use. I want to buy a single side of tooling leather(I am broke so I cant buy a bunch of sides) Anyway, any info is greatly welcomed... Thank you all...

I think if I could only get one weight of leather, I'd get 5-6. It might be a little heavy for wallets or checkbook covers, but it would work. It would also work for light weight saddle bags or holsters. If you want them heavier, you could just line them with something, even the same 5-6 ounce leather.
