Members kevinhopkins Posted November 15, 2009 Members Report Posted November 15, 2009 Hi... There really aren't any rules here for what you're doing, as I'm sure you know. the biggest thing you need to think about is what you want it too look like, and whether or not potential stretch is a factor. The stitching sure keeps the stretch down.... But if you're stuck with hand stitching, well.... you'll just have to decide how badly you want it to be stitched! Happy haltering! Kevin Quote
dirtclod Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 For my headstalls i use 10/12 oz most of the time. Quote
Members sheathmaker Posted November 15, 2009 Members Report Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) Back when i was making a lot of high end head stalls, I used two layers of 7/8 oz. cemented flesh to flesh. The out come was a good sturdy hard working headstall that was lined and looked great either relatively plain or dressed up with braid and trim Paul. Edited November 15, 2009 by sheathmaker Quote
