Snake inlayed horizontal sheath

I've just finished my new sheath for a damast steel (270 layer) fixed blade.

It's a horizontal one with snake (boa) inlay.

Very nice. I'm thinking of doing something similar for a stingray inlay on a pistol holster. What did you use to raise the inlay?

I cut the leather, then sticked the snake-skin, and the substance falling out got back onto his place.
