Is there anyone of you who has the Tandy pattern of the leather boot pattern?

thanks in advance!!!

Gunter,

I have the Earth Boot pattern set. It was purchased in the summer of 1972 for a dollar. It is in hard copy form and size five has been cut out for use, but the parts are still there, and can be put back in place on the pattern page. Unfortunately, I don't have a PDF. I will contact a friend who might be able to scan it. I will try to get a copy made. Are you wanting a particular size, or the whole set?

Jim

You might like to look at the the link below. He develops patterns and then sells them, I've got this pattern download, it is inspirational, well worth the cost, It unlocks your mind, and you can see dozens of ways of using his method for all sorts of things, he also does lots of other patterns

From step 10 of the pattern pack, one can see an image of it - I'm attempting to attach the PDF of that page. I would attach the cover page but it scanned in as 2 meg.

The earthboot is a type of moccasin that looks like what used to be called a "chucca" boot.

Jim, Thank you! I have made other styles of moccasins for personal use and for others and that is a great pattern! I love the buckle feature. My next question is are you going to stiffen the sole of the shoe on the outside or inside and what type of material are you using ? I mean, are you using a suede, or is it veg-tan and what ounce/size have you made this with? I can see these being made with a nice 7-8 oz and used as daily wear. ALL of the moccasins I have made to date are worn as "house slippers" and I don't know how to make a solid or hard sole!

Thank you for your patience!

Hi,

All the moccasins I've made in the past, were for use in the field as a re-enactor, so for the durability and strenght of the moccasinsole I've putt a double 2mm thick leather ( 2 pieces of 2mm thick on each other) sewn on the sole of the moccasin. ANd I must say, it works, they keep on going for about 7 years now, without reparing them.

Just a tip, if you can't putt a hard leather sole beneat the moc, use cowhide with the hair on the outside, smooth walk, durable last.

Cheers,

Gunter

P.S. The pic included isn't from a moc, but from a Irish Brogue I made for firend of mine, with the same soletype ;-).
