Members countrycharm Posted December 29, 2009 Members Report Posted December 29, 2009 I have a tooled black saddle with a red seat. It is stamped 1423 as well as on the right stirrup leather(fender I think it's called) area it is stamped with a W and a saddle kind of over/in the W. I am wondering what type of saddle this is? I was told it may be a vintage Wade saddle...I have searched and searched the internet for info or another saddle like it and can find none. It's really comfy and I'd like to figure out who made it or what it's called. Thanks in advance. Quote

Members AndyKnight Posted January 1, 2010 Members Report Posted January 1, 2010 IMHO Just a run of the mill factory production saddle era..1960 's ( my guess) not sure of the maker.. Definitely not related to any "wade" The red seat leather sure hasn't faded! If you are lucky it may have a rawhided tree but without looking I would guess canvas covered... Contributing Member Denise Posted January 1, 2010 Contributing Member Report Posted January 1, 2010 CountryCharm, A Wade saddle is the type of fork, not a brand name. Here is a thread that explains more about the Wade, if you are interested. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1907 Quote
