Members Alan Bell Posted January 7, 2010 Members Report Posted January 7, 2010 Had a friend ask me to repair this Bob Marr saddle. I don't know who set it up like this but shouldn't the front rigging ring hang below the tree? Is there a better way to hang that ring other than the two straps? I got to build new stirrup leathers too as the one he had on the saddle were made uneven! Vaya con Dios, Alan Quote

Members jwwright Posted January 7, 2010 Members Report Posted January 7, 2010 Alan, that is a very unusal saddle for Bob Marrs. I have never seen a charro style saddle made by him. I am sure that you will figure a way to re rig it properly, but...................it might be interesting to know how Bob rigged it originally. I have not seen him for a couple years, but as far as I know he is still building some saddles at his house near Amarillo. JW Quote

Members oldtimer Posted January 7, 2010 Members Report Posted January 7, 2010 Thanks Knut, that is a good idea! Vaya con Dios, Alan I´d bet a cent or two that the original rigging has looked something like it once, as the recent rigging looks a bit naked and misplaced for being made by a known saddlemaker. Also, a forkcover wouldn´t be wrong ? Interesting, unusual saddle indeed ! Good luck ! / Knut Quote
