Wyvern Report post Posted January 13, 2010 Can anyone out there tell me how to do this edge binding and keep it tight? Tips? tricks? Help!!
hidepounder Report post Posted January 13, 2010 Wyvern, When I do bindings I glue them in place before sewing them. I cut the width oversize so that I can trim the backside of the binding to the stitch line. The front side I glue to a light mark that I make so that the binding is straight and even. I skive both ends of the binding so that when they overlap there is not a big bulge. Hope this helps... Bobby
Wyvern Report post Posted January 13, 2010 Thanks for the responce Bobby. I am trying to learn how this type of sporran is made. Do you glue and sew the gusset in place before you put the binding on? I have always made my sporrans with a soft bag and turned the seams to the inside. I really want to learn how to do it like the one in the picture. Thanks again, Donnie
hidepounder Report post Posted January 14, 2010 No...I glue everything together and just sew once.
