oil dye visa solvent dye...?

I have used solvent dye from Fiebings for ever....now I read a lot about oil dye and wonder what it can do better or when to use it...?? I am thinning my regular Fiebings dye and do fairly well, can u thinn down oil dye and what is the better dye to use??!!

I do lots of chopper seats, holsters and such...thanks for any help.
