Western Canada Leather/saddlery supplier?

I'm sure there's some one on here from Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba who could tell me where to buy the stuff I'll need in the future.

I used to buy a lot of my leather from the Hutterites in Cardston but have heard that the enviro-nazis have shut ol' Sam down out there.

Used to buy my hardware from an outfit in Manitoba but I can't remember their name.

I'm also looking to buy a couple of saddle trees pretty quick too.

I guess it would be nice to be able to get all this stuff from one place but I have no idea if there is such a thing up here anymore.

Thanks!

olroper,

Caledon sales in Calgary is where most guys get their stuff. http://www.caledonleather.ca/ Ken is the guy to talk with and if he doesn't have it, he will know where to get it. They have been in business for a long time. Trees you generally have to order from whoever makes them - individual or company - but he often has a couple kicking around there too that someone is try to sell. The place in Winnipeg might have been Warkov-Saffeer? 1-800-665-8619 Don't know if they have a website. Hope this helps.

Thanks Denise!

I did a Google search and did find Caledons webpage but had no idea who was the "go to" company. There where a few others I found as well but a question here can save a pile of legwork.

I appreciate your time....thanks again!

Denise is correct, caledon will have everything you need to make a saddle except a tree, if you want a tree give denise a call, rod and her make one of the best trees out there. I would strongly reccomend buying a top quaility tree and waiting to get it whatever time it takes.

If you buy one of the cheaper factory type trees it will not matter how good of a job you do building the saddle, it will still be and inferior product since the foundation is a inferior product.

Thanks Denise!

Thanks for the plug, Steve. The standard advertising discount will be applied to your next tree. :) Actually, we are only about 3 months out right now on our orders so the wait isn't too bad.
