I'm a newbie. I have read that there are specific stamps for the sheridan style (thumbprint, beveler, lifter etc). What would be most appropriate for the beginning and are most often needed? Where you could buy relatively cheap which one?

Thumbprint tools, steep bevelers, bargrounders, mulefoot stamps, flower centers, leaf liners, stops. You also will need veiners and cammo tools.

These tools come in different sizes, so make sure and get the right size for you specific needs. The least expensive I have found is the stainless steel Sheridan tools from Hidecrafter, but their online catalog does not show any photos of the tools, and your best bet with them is to know ahead of time what you need, and call them on the phone.
