BrookFalls Report post Posted February 5, 2010 Hello! I'm a newbie. I have read that there are specific stamps for the sheridan style (thumbprint, beveler, lifter etc). What would be most appropriate for the beginning and are most often needed? Where you could buy relatively cheap which one? Excuse me my bad English. I use the google translator. Hello, and welcome to L.W.! Thumbprint tools, steep bevelers, bargrounders, mulefoot stamps, flower centers, leaf liners, stops. You also will need veiners and cammo tools. These tools come in different sizes, so make sure and get the right size for you specific needs. The least expensive I have found is the stainless steel Sheridan tools from Hidecrafter, but their online catalog does not show any photos of the tools, and your best bet with them is to know ahead of time what you need, and call them on the phone. Here is a link to Hidecrafter Barry King is my choice when it comes to Sheridan tools. He is more expensive, but his website is well laid out, has clear photos and descriptions, and is easy to order from. The quality of his tools is superb. Here is a link to Barry King tools Hope this helps.
