Members Fog Posted February 20, 2010 Members Report Posted February 20, 2010 It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Charles (Charlie) Warner, a master leather crafter and devoted teacher of the craft to all whom he could, yesterday. Charlie devoted most of the past decade of his life to teaching at the Leather Factory location in Oakland, Ca, and after it moved to Union City, Ca. He stuck with it with thousands of students, helping them to develop into the leather workers they wanted to be. Charlie was a baker professionally, and he brought the quiet patience of a master baker to all his students, encouraging them, demonstrating and aiding them any way he could. He loved Leather, The art and magic of each project, regardless of maker. We have many world class leather crafter's in Northern California, many of whom he'd known, learned from or taught - and his passing will be difficult for many.
