Members yldbill Posted March 4, 2010 Members Report Posted March 4, 2010 I am ready to start making my leather seat cover . I have not seen anyone mention how thick of leather they use on their seats. Should I be using thicker leather on the top and then go to a thinner more pliable leather for the sides? Quote

On the solo seats guys seem to use pretty thick leather all the way around, up around 7/8 oz or so if I remember correctly. Im sure they will step in and correct me if Im wrong. For my big touring seat that I recovered I used thicker in the seat area around 8oz and thinner around the sides to aide in molding it to the shape of the seat. I used about 5oz in these areas. Quote
