NewYorkerInSydney Report post Posted March 10, 2010 Hi everyone, I am in the market for a leather splitter. The leather I use are narrow strips no wider than 2inches to make belts with and wrist cuff bands. I need to be able to thin the leather to make it skinnier as it can be too thick for my liking some times. Can anyone recommend a decent splitter for under $200 that would work for this? Thank you so very much.
Pelallito Report post Posted March 10, 2010 Try doing a search for smillingjim. I stumbled across a thread yesterday where it showed a homemade splitter that might do what you need. He used a razor blade, washers, bolts, and wood to make a very nice, small splitter. Good luck. Fred

If you are still looking, go to You tube and search for leather splitter, there are a couple of home made that will fill your bill for less than $10.00 US The Texan
