Craftt Report post Posted March 14, 2010 hello there: i am looking for information on a boot jack kit that Tandy must have put out #4435. I have a copy of page 12 from a flyer or catalouge way back with the title "Tooled Side Panels for Boot Jack Kit" by Tony Laier. I do not have the instructions for the kit just the panels. What i want to know is how to put the leather on the part that protects the boot when taking it off. If someone has an idea of the pattern i need i would appreciate it very much. i had the wood shop make some boot trees for me and i want to finish them. MADMAX22 Report post Posted March 15, 2010 Looks to me like it is just tacked in place. I would take some leather of choice (looks like suede splits in the pic) and personally I would glue it on then tack it in place with those little brass tacks. You can find them at hardware stores pretty cheap. As far as the actual pattern for the shape probably the easiest way is get some cloth and spray just it with some spray adhesive let it get tacky and put it on so it doesnt stick permanently then trim it to the shape you need. Pull it off and now you have a rough templet to use.

I have taken pig skin and tried what you said but then couldn't get the right angle for the bottom. Cindy
