how get tortoise shell effect

hi do,s any one know how to get tortoise effect on veg tan leather thanx walletman (bob)

I've gotten a similar look to tortoise shell by making a stencil and airbrushing through it. The stencil should be held slightly above the leather so the dye bleeds under it and gives a soft edge. Shift the stencil slightly and spray again with a second color.

Flip the tortoise over and roll him around on the leather. Just don't hammer too hard- they don't like that.

Hey Bob, Alot of us get the tortoise shell effect when we don't want the tortoise shell effect!

Like when we try to seal some colors that aren't compatible with our topcoat. When that happens we call it an "effect".
