hi do,s any one know how to get tortoise effect on veg tan leather thanx walletman (bob) :helpsmilie:

I've gotten a similar look to tortoise shell by making a stencil and airbrushing through it. The stencil should be held slightly above the leather so the dye bleeds under it and gives a soft edge. Shift the stencil slightly and spray again with a second color.

Flip the tortoise over and roll him around on the leather. Just don't hammer too hard- they don't like that.

Oh, guess you were looking for texture. I was thinking coloration.

Hey Bob, Alot of us get the tortoise shell effect when we don't want the tortoise shell effect! :blush:

Like when we try to seal some colors that aren't compatible with our topcoat. When that happens we call it an "effect". :yes:
