steve mason Report post Posted March 19, 2010 howdy; I have flower carved for over 20 years but I have never done any figure carving, I have a couple saddle orders coming up that call for a humming bird and a dragon fly. I did a test humming bird and I am somewhat satisfied with the results with the exception being the beek, not sure yet how to get the best effect on that. I am not asking for a pattern but I would like to see some photos of figure carved birds and dragonflys for some inspiration. thanks much] Steve
skyout Report post Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) Here's a couple of links to dragonflies. http://leatherworker...t=0entry55331 http://leatherworker...t=0entry25644 I remember seeing a bird recently but I think it had a knife going thru it (back side of a motorcycle seat???) but couldn't find it. Here are 2 I found using the search function. http://leatherworker...=0entry142793 http://leatherworker...=0entry126037 I'm sure there are more in the gallery, but I found these from ClayB which I though were great! JMO http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=gallery&module=images§ion=viewimage&img=6530 Hope these help. yaklady Report post Posted March 25, 2010 Here's a humming bird I did. This one is embossed applique, but you can get the right idea from it.
