Hello,

after reading a lot of stuff about and finding no real answer (only: sharp). I think I will ask you all: How sharp is your swivel Knive? As sharp as a real knive (so it can hurt you) or more blunt?

Dont´t get me wrong, my swivel knive works very well, but I´m gathering all informations about, maybe it could work better..?

I keep mne sharp enough to shave my arm clean. But I'm addicted to accurate firearms and sharp bladesevillaugh.gif. As sharp as I keep my swivel knife it glides through leather like hot butter flows (no blade chatter) and allows me to keep a lighter touch.

I use varying degrees of wet/dry sand paper that I spay glue onto a sheet of glass. Strop on a manilla file folder and finally buff edge with Flitz. The better the edge is polished the better the tool preforms.

I have to agree. I take my swivel knives up to 6000 grit (japanese water stones). Stropping it after each stone I use until I get to the 6000. I have heard of the use of flitz, but I have not tried it. I use black, red and green rouge. You cannot go wrong with a sharp swivel knife. it will help your leather carving by easying up by allowing the knife to glide easier.

Good luck
