I think I know what you are talking about---but by another name. Can you describe "dove wing" a little. If it's what I'm thinking about, I've made them, and have a couple good patterns.

Look on the cascity.com website forum and go to the leather workers section. There are several examples of different type of spur straps. I remember a recent thread with pictures of dove wing spur straps.

Dove wing straps are one continuous piece of leather with holes at either end to go over the spur buttons. they are wider than most straps and the outside end is shaped like a dove's wing and the inside end is just round.
