Members iwannabeacowboy Posted April 2, 2010 Members Report Posted April 2, 2010 Why are pricking irons so expensive? Also wonder why there aren't more makers. charlie Quote
Members gary Posted April 2, 2010 Members Report Posted April 2, 2010 I've been told it's because of the precision required in making them. I have tried some cheaper ones but the teeth are quite often at slightly different angles and the spacing is irregular. So I went back to expensive ones. Gary Quote
Members Kevin Posted April 2, 2010 Members Report Posted April 2, 2010 Try making one. I think they are pretty much hand made and must have some kind of heat treatment, because I bought some that were only about $35, and they each had broken teeth within a month and I promise I'm not hard on them. If you sew enough, it's actually a pretty cheap investment. (Then why don't I have more?) Kevin Quote
