dirtclod Report post Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) I don't know a thing about Champions. But i did this on a American straight needle i had when it did what your talking about. Put a piece of scrap leather under the foot open the door where you see things if it has one. Then turn the machine by hand and watch what happens. Is their a hook that comes out and catches the thread ? If it does and misses try bringing the hook out or move it back till it does. Or maybe tilt it up or down. Pictures would help to. If none of that works maybe somebody smarter than me can help. Edited May 9, 2010 by dirtclod

CowboyBob Report post Posted May 10, 2010 You might want to check & see if the loop opener has play in it,you need to check when it's in the position where it starts moving to the right. If it has play then it's not opening the loop soon enough. Bob the loop opener hook is tight till it moves to the right once it starts to move there is a little play in the opener. if i turn the machine over by hand as the shuttle misses the loop if i just turn it back a hair it grabs the loop when it makes the second pass.
