calanneh Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Here are a few more pictures of some of my work. Ren Fest belt and pouches- The belt overlaps in the front and hooks on studs on both sides: This shows the main belt pouch and a small side pouch for cash, cellphone, glasses, etc. Both are rigid and stand out out on their own. I made them like a pair of saddlebads I saw at the local Tandy shop. Some basic lace up gaunlets: This is a soft sided pouch I made for my wife. I stichted a large panel on the back instead of cutting belt slits into the pouch itself: I hope to post more pics as I get more done! cal
Spider Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Cool looking stuff. Where'd you get those snaps? Did you make those?
whinewine Report post Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Cool looking stuff. Where'd you get those snaps? Did you make those? Spider- those are the standard screw conchos adapted to fit line 24 snap caps. Tandy sells an adapter kit to adapt the screw post conchos into snaps. Advice: add loctite to keep the screw threads from unwinding from the concho part. russ Edited April 17, 2008 by whinewine

Those were from the local Tandy.Roger, from the Pasadena TX Tandy, held my hand (sometimes literally) as I worked on those first several pieces. It was all his fault! Or that is what I tell my wife when I come home with triple digit receipts once a month....hehehe calCool looking stuff. Where'd you get those snaps? Did you make those? Thanks Spider! I plan on making a hat and boots to match before the Ren Fest this fall. I tried to make the pouch green and black, but I couldnt get the green even so I jsut covered it in black.....I am gonna go to Tandy next time for a little hands on training for the dieing process.cal
