Members mustangsallyoo13 Posted June 9, 2010 Members Report Posted June 9, 2010 I have been asked to fix an english bridle that is missing the bridle hooks. For those that are unaware of english tack, the bridle hook is on the cheek piece and attaches to the bit. I know that Weaver sells this product but as of yet I do not have an account with them and am not going to be spending the required $250 to open an account. Does anyone know who else sells this hook and where I can obtain them? Thank you for the assistance. I really appreciate it. Quote
Members celticleather Posted June 10, 2010 Members Report Posted June 10, 2010 These are called hook studs, and are available in a number of different sizes and styles from http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/ or from http://www.leprevo.co.uk/saddlery.htm. Both companies are happy to ship overseas, and I don't think they have minimum order requirements. Quote
Members Kevin Posted June 10, 2010 Members Report Posted June 10, 2010 The studs Weaver sells are HUGE, someone decided they needed to be "redesigned" so they would work with about 14 oz leather, they are useless as far I can see. Windmill saddle supply in Ohio has the proper sizes. Kevin Quote
Members TroyS Posted June 10, 2010 Members Report Posted June 10, 2010 If Weaver is the only source you're satisfied with, PM me... I have an account with Weaver and would be willing to help a fellow leatherman out... Quote
