Members richard55 Posted June 25, 2010 Members Report Posted June 25, 2010 i am looking to buy a machine a sailrite portable zig zag machine ,the price is good but wondering if it a good machine here a pic of it dont be shy i need help Quote
dirtclod Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Hi Richard, I wouldn't buy a zigzag machine for my first machine. Because it's going to just what the name says zigzag. For most of the last 25 years i have been doing leather work full time and one time i needed a zigzag machine. Granted i don't know what you want to make or what type leather you want to sew. But i belive you will be money ahead getting a straight stich machine. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.

You want a machine that will do most of what you do and a zig zag machine probably is not the machine. Thanks, Steve Quote Thank You Steve Tayrien Leather Machine Co., Inc. 2141 E. Moderator Wizcrafts Posted June 25, 2010 Moderator Report Posted June 25, 2010 If you use a zig zag machine to sew leather that is hard, it may cause the needle to deflect sideways, even when you want to sew straight. That is my experience.
