Members Weezy Posted July 29, 2010 Members Report Posted July 29, 2010 Hello everyone! I have been working with leather for a year now in August! I have made many belts, knife and shear sheaths, wallets, etc. I have been handsewing everything with a sewing awl and thread. All of my stitching has become a lot more clean, and I am very happy with it. BUT, it is very time consuming! So now is the time for an upgrade! I'm looking to buy the right leather sewing machine for my needs. I have been looking at the Tippman Boss handstitcher, which seems to be a wonderful piece. I have also been looking at many walking foot machines, but I don't know much about any of them. The only sewing machine I have ever sewn on was for material, so I'm a newbie at the leather machines! I'm wanting to spend somewhere around 1000, maybe somewhat more if I find something special! I would appreciate anyone's input and opinion on what I should look at and what all you fellow leather workers have had success with! Take care and have a Blessed Day! Quote
