pearlygirl555 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 Hello I'm gathering supplies to begin making moccasins from 9-ounce buffalo. Bought a used but much-adored Consew 228 and have a question about bonded polyester thread vs nylon. It's been recommended that I use Coats Star Ultra Dee DB138 for the sole work and the same in DB92 for everything else. So far I've had an easier time finding the same weight in 100% nylon marine thread. Will the marine thread work just as well, or will the nylon be too hard on the holes as the moccasin wears, and I really should hold out for the cotton/poly blend? Thanks in advance for any responses.
