Members jc3persons Posted August 22, 2010 Members Report Posted August 22, 2010 Well, i have read about so many suppliers and the opinions about leather and where to buy,,just like certain body parts every one has one,,just kidding!!! It seems like it would be a sin not to try at least one double shoulder of Hermann Oak leather but figuring out which supplier has my head going like a bee hive...Being on a tight budget and only 1 piece at a time may limit choices but still interested in the opinions of such skilled craftsman as i am being amazed by every time i visit the site....If you got time i will be checking off and on,,right now gotta deliver a coon to some new pastures,,,so. texas must be king of coon land,,live and let live!!! You really need to try Hermann Oak it is as good as we all say it is. If you want tor try before you comit to a large purchase call Kevin at Springfield Leather as they will cut you a section that is within your budget. Good people to deal with. Quote
King's X Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 If you can afford $99, you can get a good quality hide from Stevenson Paxton in any ounce you need. The last 5 I purchased were very nice for a lower than high grade quality. Quote

MADMAX22 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Wicket and craig is also very nice leather. The two leathers I can recommend are wicket and craig and herman oak. WandC also usually have sales going on where you can get sides for about $100. I do not know which I like better, they have there own appeal and I enjoy using either brand of leather. Quote
