Spinner Report post Posted September 10, 2010 Received a special request from one of the folks on the ShadowAero750 forum to do a California-style bib since the originators of the style: Peaceful Cruisin' decided to retire earlier this year. So I figured I would give it a shot and see what happens. Besides, the artwork he supplied was pretty awesome and detailed and I couldn't resist the challenge he was throwing to me. The p.i.t.a. part was he wanted the tooling to be dark red to match his pinstripping and when all was said and done, the painting took longer than any other part of the project! 2 coats of bright red airbrush paint to get a good base and then 2 coats of Deep Crimson Red acrylic paint to give it life. I'd do it again, but the painting part is going to have to be an extra/upgrade due to the time involved. Here are the pics: Yeah, I know…my bike is a mish-mosh of parts right now. You can see the prototype of the mini-solo bag still mounted up, chrome side covers because my leather wrapped set are being redone (the drawback of improving designs when your own served as the prototypes) and the slightly rusty custom Hypercharger bracket. That was a project I started and haven't quite finished yet due to lack of welding equipment and the high cost of chroming right now. Not to mention, looking at my bike makes me want to get to work on and finish my seat with the custom lower-ride fiberglass seat pan.
