megabit Report post Posted December 6, 2010 This is sort of a swivel style San Juan I guess. It has a 4 strand eye like a San Juan but instead of doing the knot on the side it necks down like a Mexican swivel threw the eye. ljensen Report post Posted December 6, 2010 Hi MB, why don't you send it up here are I will do some testing on it for you. It looks good and that is an interesting approach with the neck. My only question is the ring knot looks very loose from the picture.
megabit Report post Posted December 6, 2010 I hope it is tight enough. This string was rather thick and not the easiest to work with also the ends of the strings make some parts of it looks like there is a lot of space where there isn't really any. I used 4 strands for the ring knot so you have 4 ends. Since there could be a QC problem maybe I should keep this one and try it out myself.
rgerbitz Report post Posted December 8, 2010 Looks good Mike. I personally like a thicker hondo so use wider strings or more of them. I may have to try and make some like that. I really like the looks of it. Rob

megabit Report post Posted January 14, 2011 do you put the plug for the rope hole in before or after you tie your turks head Yes the turks head (or neck if you will) is tied around a dowl I pull the eight strands through the 4 strand loop and tie it like you would a multiple strand nose button on a bosal.
