Members Bobby hdflame Posted December 15, 2010 Members Report Posted December 15, 2010 We're giving our daughter a Kindle for Christmas. I'd like to make her a custom cover. Any ideas on materials, patterns, design, construction? Thanks, Bobby Quote Bobby Riddle Sanford, NC www.riddlescustomupholstery.com www.sunstopper.biz
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted December 16, 2010 Contributing Member Report Posted December 16, 2010 5-6oz vegtan tooled with something meaningful to the both of you. Simple sleeve design, stitched or laced up the sides with a short flap to a latch of some sort. Perhaps a strap attached to d rings on the back? My wife got her a cover from Amazon when she bought the Kindle. That gives me some time to think of something special, maybe for her birthday. I've been looking on here to get some ideas. Members wildrose Posted January 12, 2011 Members Report Posted January 12, 2011 I've got this same question posted on the "How Do I Do That?" forum. Quote Holly Moore Wild Rose Creations http://www.wrcleather.com
King's X Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I just took the measurements today for a Kindle B/W. I am making one as a gift my boss, our administrative secretary who is retiring in the coming months. She has been a fan of my leather work and she requested it, so off I go. I usually post my patterns on my Facebook site and available for down load to any of my FB friends. I will post pictures on here as I progress with this project if you would like me too? Good luck. WildRose, Thanks for the heads up, I'll check out your thread! King's X, I've never really been on FaceBook very much, but I'll check out your FaceBook page. Do you have a link? I'm sure others on here would love to see it as well. Thanks for offering. Bobby Quote Bobby Riddle Sanford, NC www.riddlescustomupholstery.com www.sunstopper.biz
King's X Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Bobby: It is at the bottom of my signature page, just click on the link. I worked on the front cover floral design for the Kindle cover last night. Still tweaking it a bit. Good luck Quote Greetings from Central Texas! The Grain Side Up blog #TheGrainSideUp
