Moccasin Boot Possibility

Recommended Posts

Hi y'all, I'm extremely new to leatherworking so I figured to ask y'all if what I'm thinking is even possible. I know that when making moccasins or moccasin boots, it's typical to use light weight leather. Do you use the same leather for the sole as you do for the sides and is it possible to make this type of boot waterproof? cheers.gif

For my double sole moccasins I use 8-9 ounce leather for both the uppers and the soles ... plus I add a 6-8 inner sole. For my soft sole moccs I use the same 8-9 ounce leather ... buffalo, bullhide, cowhide
