Members midnightrider454 Posted December 17, 2010 Members Report Posted December 17, 2010 Hi y'all, I'm extremely new to leatherworking so I figured to ask y'all if what I'm thinking is even possible. I know that when making moccasins or moccasin boots, it's typical to use light weight leather. Do you use the same leather for the sole as you do for the sides and is it possible to make this type of boot waterproof? Quote

Members Wassookeag Moccasins Posted April 15, 2011 Members Report Posted April 15, 2011 For my double sole moccasins I use 8-9 ounce leather for both the uppers and the soles ... plus I add a 6-8 inner sole. For my soft sole moccs I use the same 8-9 ounce leather ... buffalo, bullhide, cowhide Quote
