Members bd797 Posted January 10, 2011 Members Report Posted January 10, 2011 Is a class 97 machine on a factory pedestal and motor worth 800$? The only thing that it may need would be a clutch plate. Otherwise good condition. Will sew if run by hand. Quote
Moderator Art Posted January 10, 2011 Moderator Report Posted January 10, 2011 Those machines can sew quite well, but nowadays, you have to find someone who wants one and wants to move it to get any money for them. I used to be an old iron nut, but I have sold everything but the Campbell and a No.9, and started collecting 201, 221, 222, 301 Singers; much easier to move and work on. You might run into some nasty little parts problems with that machine too, but the parts are out there. If you are not absolutely in love with that machine, don't buy it.
