Hello everyone, Im new to this site and also new to leatherwork. This is my third shield and best one so far. Im going to give it to one of my Captains for his 30 year fire anniversery. What does everyone think? Any critique would be appreciated.

Not too bad, Vinny. How are you getting your image onto the leather? Are you free-handing it or do you actually trace an image? Are you drawing it on the PC at first? I'd like to know your routine or method.

Thanks,

Roy

The banners and the large numbers are free hand. I draw my design on with a metal stylus then use a swivel knife followed by a beveler. The letters on top and bottom are stencils. This was 2 months after I had started making shields and a lot has changed since then. Its a short but difficult road to get better. Its a long and difficult road to get really good.

Just message me with any questions and I will help you as best I can
