Members stamphandj Posted January 24, 2011 Members Report Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) What a wonderful site you have here, and I want to say thanks for allowing others to come and share ideas. I am amazed at the skill levels of some you folks. I found this through a google search I believe. And am currently in Fort Wayne, In. But I consider Louisiana home. Anyway I had done a reasonable amount of leather work years ago and had worked as a stamphand for a few saddle and custom leather shops in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. Then I put the tools down for a long time and because of this site and a couple of others my interest has been rekindled. I stuck up a website to journal this new leather excursion if your interested. http://www.stamphandj.com/ Again Thanks for being here to help us out. Edited January 24, 2011 by stamphandj Quote

Members radar67 Posted January 24, 2011 Members Report Posted January 24, 2011 Stamphand, I had a look at your site and am interested in the boxes and tool holders you have on your bench. Can you post some pictures here and explain more about them? Quote

Members stamphandj Posted January 24, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 24, 2011 The tool holders that you see in those pictures are the plastic ones that Tandy has sold since I can remember. The ones in the photographs are probably thirty years old. And that cool wooden box was made for me to haul tools that I need when I worked outside of the shop. It has a small drawer for carrying items such as knives or awls or whatever. I don't recall where I got that large wooden tool rack. Since those pictures were taken, I got two of the wooden racks from Tandy because they had a good year end sale so I took advantage of some of their specials. I will post a few pictures in the near future. Thanks for your comment. Stamphand, I had a look at your site and am interested in the boxes and tool holders you have on your bench. Members stamphandj Posted January 25, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 25, 2011 Maybe I should draw up some plans for that box? For some reason I was thinking that box was in one of the old make it leather magazines. But I can't find it in the issues I have. You have some incredible pieces in your gallery. Welcome to the forum and greetings from Central Texas. I really like your wooden tool box. Quote
King's X Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Why thank you! Many of us on here have some great pieces to share and learn from. I would be interested in your draw ups for this box. I really would like a travel box. Quote
